Welcome to Black's Pies

Black's Pies is a pioneering handmade pie business based in Flintshire. Our journey began in the back of our family-run fish and chip shop. After experimenting with various pie brands, we made the bold decision that none of them met our standards. Determined to create something better, we turned to traditional recipes passed down through generations and discovered a true passion for crafting handmade, full-flavored pies. And so, Black's Pies – A Taste of Tradition – was born.

From the beginning, we made a commitment to ethically source all our ingredients. We believe in supporting local businesses, which is why we exclusively use locally sourced meat supplied by an award-winning butcher, ensuring the highest quality in every pie.

Initially, we made these pies for our own shop, but it quickly became clear that there was a gap in the market for a premium, consistent product. Black's Pies were simply too good to keep to ourselves. In December 2019, we expanded to a dedicated production and development kitchen, allowing us to supply the wholesale market. Since then, our pies have been met with incredible demand from the food outlet industry, and we now supply a variety of local venues, including pubs, traditional takeaways, and even a football club.

In 2022, we were thrilled to receive a GOLD award at the British Pie Awards for our Minced Beef & Onion pie – a true testament to our commitment to quality and tradition.
